DAY ONE - SAT 12 JUNE
Portland to Falmouth (Mylor Marina) 107nm
After a very successful muster of ten out of the eleven RIBs taking part, skippers and crews taking part in the Great British RIB Rally at the wonderful Portland Marina on Friday afternoon, the organisers, Patrick Byrne (Scorpion RIBs) and Chris Strickland (on behalf of BIBOA), briefed the teams first thing Saturday morning and then they were off.

The only boat and crew missing from the start was Mike Thornton's Bluewater Raven who was joining up with the rest of the Rally in Falmouth. Tributes and huge thanks to Richard Reddyhoff at Portland Marina for his generosity and efficient marina team and also to the excellent staff running 'The Boat That Rocks' who did a superb job of looking after all of our pre-start catering requirements!
After a fuel problem that left Scooby Doo behind at the start, the rest of the Rally set off in perfect conditions and, via lunch in Salcombe for most, they all had a great run down to Mylor Marina. Engineers were waiting to help Scooby Doo get its fuel problem sorted and they finally made into Falmouth at 10pm. Organisers make a special mention of the help and support from Mylor Marina - thanks guys.
